Structural Engineer

Salary: Up to £45,000 + 12% annual bonus

Our client is a well-established and growing structural and civil engineering consultancy, providing high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their team.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a range of structural engineering projects, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other design professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking structural analysis and design across a variety of projects.
• Producing structural calculations, reports and technical documentation.
• Designing structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Preparing and reviewing structural drawings and details.
• Working on projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Undertaking site visits, surveys and structural inspections where required.
• Providing technical support during construction and responding to engineering queries.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Managing your own workload and delivering projects within agreed timescales.
• Working collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the business.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Previous experience within a structural engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• A strong understanding of structural engineering principles and design.
• Experience designing in steel, concrete, timber and/or masonry.
• Good knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
• The ability to produce accurate structural calculations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in developing your career.

Chartered status, or a desire to work towards chartership, would be advantageous.

Experience with structural design software, AutoCAD and/or Revit would also be beneficial.
