Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Warrington / North West
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + package

A well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of residential groundworks and infrastructure projects across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of live and upcoming work, delivering packages for major residential developers. The role offers involvement across the full commercial lifecycle of multiple schemes and would suit someone with a strong background in residential groundworks, infrastructure, or civil engineering.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a number of residential infrastructure and groundwork packages, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full commercial lifecycle from pre-start through to final account

  • Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts

  • Producing valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and account agreements

  • Assessing and managing variations, change control, and compensation events

  • Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice and cost management

  • Monitoring project performance and identifying risks and opportunities

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, site teams, and subcontractors

  • Assisting with final accounts and ensuring timely commercial close-out of projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor role

  • Strong background within residential groundworks, infrastructure, or civil engineering

  • Good understanding of cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts

  • Experience working with subcontractors and operational delivery teams

  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred
