About the Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring effective cost control from pre-construction through to final account. You will contribute to the successful delivery of developments by preparing accurate costings, monitoring budgets, and supporting procurement and contract administration activities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse costings, budgets, and financial forecasts for residential projects

Negotiate and agree contract terms and scope with clients and subcontractors

Monitor project costs and expenditure to ensure projects remain within budget

Carry out tender evaluations and prepare recommendations for award

Produce clear and accurate cost reports for project teams and stakeholders

Assist with the management of contractual claims and variations

Support project delivery by helping to ensure procurement processes are efficient and compliant

Work collaboratively with internal teams to maintain commercial performance across developments
Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential sector

Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards

Excellent negotiation, communication, and client management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Relevant professional qualification, such as RICS membership or equivalent, is desirable

Previous experience working with private housebuilders is preferred
