Project Manager – EV Charging & Solar PV

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of EV Charging Infrastructure and Solar PV projects across commercial, industrial, public sector, and utility environments.

The successful candidate will manage projects from inception through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with clients, DNOs, contractors, consultants, and suppliers, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project delivery including health and safety, programme management, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance.

Principal Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Manage EV charging and Solar PV projects from planning through to completion.

• Coordinate design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.

• Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

• Identify and mitigate project risks and delivery challenges.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.

• Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, local authorities, consultants, and subcontractors.

• Manage client expectations and provide regular progress updates.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships throughout project delivery.

Commercial & Contract Management

• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.

• Manage variations, change control, and project reporting requirements.

• Support commercial teams in maximising project profitability.

• Ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures.

• Review RAMS and conduct regular site inspections.

• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience delivering EV Charging Infrastructure projects.

• Experience delivering commercial, industrial, or utility-scale Solar PV installations.

• Strong understanding of LV electrical infrastructure and power distribution.

• Experience managing electrical contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge of DNO application and grid connection processes.

• Experience managing project budgets, programmes, and stakeholders.

• SMSTS.

• CSCS Card.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience with battery storage (BESS) projects.

• Knowledge of NEC contracts.

• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.

• APM, Prince2, or equivalent project management qualification.

• Electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
