Electrician – Inspection & Testing (2391)

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a qualified Electrician with a City & Guilds 2391 qualification to join a busy (live) manufacturing environment within the food and beverage industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding activities, ensuring that electrical installations, equipment and systems meet the required safety standards and operate efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent electrician with a strong background in inspection and testing to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality and operational reliability are key priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection, testing and verification in line with relevant regulations and standards.

• Perform electrical testing on installations, equipment and associated systems.

• Complete initial verification and periodic inspection and testing, where applicable.

• Identify, diagnose and report electrical faults, defects and non-compliances.

• Accurately complete electrical test certificates, inspection reports and associated documentation.

• Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.

• Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, site procedures and health and safety requirements.

• Work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams to support operational reliability.

• Follow safe isolation procedures and ensure all work is completed safely and professionally.

Essential Requirements

• City & Guilds 2391 – Electrical Inspection and Testing, or an equivalent recognised qualification covering the required inspection and testing competencies.

• Relevant electrical qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

• Proven experience carrying out electrical inspection and testing.

• A sound understanding of BS 7671 and applicable electrical safety regulations.

• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.

• Strong fault-finding skills and excellent attention to detail.

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within FMCG, food and beverage, packaging or high-volume manufacturing environments.

• Experience working with industrial electrical systems, production machinery and control panels.

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices.

Location: Candidates based in the Middlesbrough area will be considered. However, applicants willing to travel or relocate for the right opportunity are also encouraged to apply.

Salary: Competitive salary on offer, £28-£35 (Including digs)
