, Ref: 324

A leading workplace consultancy and design & build business is looking to appoint an experienced Client Director to help develop and manage key client relationships across the commercial interiors and workplace sector.

This is a senior client-facing role with a respected, employee-owned business that specialises in workplace consultancy, office interior design, CAT A and CAT B fit-out, furniture and workplace technology. The company works with major UK organisations to create workplaces that improve how people think, feel and perform, with a strong focus on long-term client partnerships and repeat business.

The role would suit someone from a workplace, office fit-out, commercial interiors, design & build or consultancy background who is confident building relationships, leading client conversations and converting opportunities into live projects.

The Role

As Client Director, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing client relationships from early engagement through to project conversion. You will work closely with internal design, consultancy, pre-construction and delivery teams to shape solutions that meet client objectives and create long-term value.

This is not a transactional sales role. It requires a consultative approach, strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand a client’s business, workplace challenges and future property needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Identify new project opportunities within the workplace and commercial interiors market.
  • Lead early-stage client meetings, discovery sessions and project conversations.
  • Work with internal design and consultancy teams to develop compelling proposals.
  • Support pitches, presentations and tender opportunities.
  • Manage client expectations throughout the pre-contract process.
  • Develop long-term accounts and repeat business opportunities.
  • Represent the business professionally in the market and at industry events.
  • Maintain awareness of workplace trends, occupier challenges and commercial property activity.

Ideal Background

  • Experience in workplace design & build, office fit-out, commercial interiors, furniture, property consultancy or a related sector.
  • Strong client-facing, business development or account management experience.
  • Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders, occupiers, landlords, agents and professional teams.
  • Able to lead consultative sales conversations rather than purely price-led discussions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Commercially aware, credible and relationship-driven.
  • A good understanding of workplace strategy, office design, fit-out delivery or the wider commercial property market would be highly beneficial.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a long-established and award-winning workplace specialist with a strong market reputation, a substantial repeat-client base and a collaborative employee-owned culture. The business has delivered over 2,000 projects, including schemes as large as 126,000 sq ft, and continues to be recognised for the quality of its workplace consultancy, design and fit-out work.
