We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Buyer to join their Supply Chain team, supporting procurement and sourcing activities across a diverse range of goods, works and services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to join a well-established organisation where you'll play a key role in delivering value for money, supporting strategic procurement initiatives, and building strong supplier relationships across the business.

The role covers the North West region, with travel between sites and supplier locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of procurement activities across multiple spend categories.

  • Lead and assist with RFIs, RFQs, ITTs and supplier tender processes.

  • Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.

  • Work closely with operational teams to develop specifications and evaluate supplier submissions.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring contract performance.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and deliver value for money.

  • Maintain procurement plans, savings reports and project trackers.

  • Support procurement across areas including construction materials, repairs and maintenance supplies, warehouse services and waste management.

  • Carry out market research, supplier benchmarking and value engineering exercises.

  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems.

  • Ensure procurement activities remain compliant with internal governance and company policies.

  • Support supplier onboarding and maintain accurate procurement records.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a procurement, purchasing or supply chain role.

  • Construction, property maintenance or housebuilding procurement experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.

  • Experience managing tender processes and supporting contract negotiations.

  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and monitor performance.

  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost savings and service improvement.

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.

  • CIPS qualified or working towards a professional procurement qualification is desirable.

  • Knowledge of contract management, governance and financial compliance processes.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North West.
